Benefit of Broccoli

Broccoli fights cancer-causing bacteria

Helicobacteri pylori, is the bacterium responsible for most stomach cancers. A recent study completed by Japanese researchers has demonstrated in humans that broccoli can fight and protect against this form of bacteria.

Broccoli is known as a cruciferous vegetable due to its cross-shape tiny green flower buds. These buds are power-packed with glucosinolate, which is broken down into active sulforaphane compounds when the plant is chewed. The sulphoraphane in broccoli has been recently shown to inhibit Helicobacter infections and block the formation of gastric tumors.

This benefit of broccoli has been demonstrated in humans that consumed 100grams of broccoli each day. Despite the important health benefits obtained from eating this vegetable many people don’t like the taste of broccoli. So I’m going to share with you a very quick and simple way to cook this vegetable that makes it taste absolutely delicious. No kidding!

Firstly, wash and dice your fresh broccoli. Then heat a wok on a high level. Add a table spoon of sesame oil to the pan then toss in your broccoli. Cover the pan and cook on high for just 2 minutes, no more. Stir one or twice during this short time. Once the 2 minutes is up, scoop the broccoli out and serve while nice 'n' hot.

This cooking method keeps the vegetable firm and crunchy; the sesame oil is the kicker as it brings out a nutty, flavorsome texture in the vegetable that makes it taste awesome. If you're use to microwaving your vegetables, you won’t believe the difference in taste. It will have you actually looking forward to your broccoli servings each day.
